Alaskan Soprano, Julia Woodring, is passionate about expressing truth and beauty through music. This season, Woodring has had the pleasure of singing the title role in Puccini’s Suor Angelica with the Montefeltro Festival. An avid performer of new music, Woodring premiered the role of Lizzie Borthwick in the World Premiere of Shawn Crouch’s Stained Glass as well as the Brittomara in the Midwest Premiere of Jake Heggie’s If I Were You.

Having transitioned from Mezzo Soprano, other recent roles include Isabella in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri, Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina, and the Second Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte. In concert, she has been featured as a soloist in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony with Frost Symphony Orchestra, singing Britten’s Cabaret Songs with Orchestra Miami, and performing excerpts from Shawn Crouch’s Visions and Ecstasies: A Mass with the Mary and Martha Foundation.
